Every year, Wheels, an Australian automotive magazine, announces finalists and winners for their Car of the Year Award. McConnel Honda is proud to say that this year the hybrid Honda CR-Z was named as a finalist.
Wheels judge James Whitbourn said that CR-Z is a "refreshingly pure and enjoyable" ride, "Combine the grin factor with the efficiency promised by the hybrid system and there's little doubt the Honda coupe takes the car where it should be going - smaller, lighter, more efficient and more fun."1
Of course the Honda CR-Z is competing against other performance car manufacturers, but we feel the power from the electric motor and the design of the car give it a good shot at winning the Wheels Car of the Year title. The shear variety of finalists also suggest that car designs and engine systems are becoming more advanced. Traditional performance cars are finding themselves competing with hybrid and electric cars. Bill Thomas, Wheels editor, confirmed this fact when he said this year's finalists are the most varied in the 49-year history of the rankings. The Wheels Car of the Year winner will be announced January 18. While we wait to hear the outcome, come check out the latest CR-Z models at McConnel Honda on 2840 Eastern Blvd in Montgomery, AL 36116.
