The always popular, benchmark-setting Honda Accord,
receives a major mid-model cycle refresh for the 2016 model year.
 













Both the 2016 Accord Sedan and Coupe get a major facelift with sportier, more sophisticated styling, front and back. In front is a more sharply creased and intricately structured bumper fascia with outside edges that tuck into large side intakes containing new LED fog lights. The Accord Sedan also gets restyled LED taillights.

The Touring Sedan features a new side-sill garnish and rear deck spoiler. New color options include Kona Coffee Metallic for the sedan and Deep Blue Opal Metallic for the Coupe. All models feature restyled wheels with the Sport and Touring Sedan models featuring 19-inch wheels and tires and new side-sill garnish.





The 2016 Accord interior gets revised fabric and color schemes. Depending on model and trim, these new features include glossy piano black interior trim for Accord Sedan LX and Sport and Coupe LX-S, new carbon fiber-style dashboard trim and new cloth seat fabric with leatherette bolsters for the Sedan in Sport trim, new wood grain-style dashboard trim for Accord Sedan EX and above trims, new metal-style dashboard trim for Accord Coupe EX and above trims, and new tricot seat fabric for Accord Sedan EX.







Accord Sedan and Coupe EX and above models incorporate Apple CarPlay and Android Auto offering a multitude of new functions and features, including smartphone-linked navigation, audio streaming, voice-controlled SMS text messaging and more.




Apple CarPlay and Android Auto brings users' smartphone experience, features and functions to the Accord's Display Audio touchscreen with a single, dedicated USB cable connection and, in the case of Android Auto, automatic Bluetooth phone pairing.



The user is able to gain access to certified applications and functions, such as audio streaming, voice-to-text, smartphone-enabled navigation and more. Voice activation is controlled by the steering wheel-mounted button, while approved apps and other smartphone functions are selected using the 7-inch capacitive touchscreen. Turn-by-turn directions using Apple Maps or Google Maps are displayed on the 7.7-inch i-MID.






The Accord audio and digital experience is also significantly upgraded with the available application of a 7-inch Display Audio touchscreen interface featuring one of the first volume production applications of both Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, plus available HondaLink Assist (e911) and HD Radio. The intuitive and easy-to-use capacitive touchscreen lets users swipe, tap, and pinch - just like on a tablet or smartphone - to control the vehicle's audio system, display settings and other advanced features.




The main USB Audio Interface is located int he front part of the center console under the buttons for the A/C on all Accord models and on EX and above trims has been upgraded to 1.5 amps. The USB Audio Interface can allow an iPod, iPod or flash drive to be connected to the system. The device can then be controlled using the steering wheel-mounted controls or audio system controls.  The audio system features Speed-Sensitive Volume Control (SVC). With SVC, as the vehicle speeds up and exterior noise increases, the audio system automatically raises the music's volume, and then lowers it again as the vehicle slows down.






A 60/40 split rear seatback is new for the 2016 Honda Accord, giving you the flexibility to carry many different combinations of passengers and cargo (Sport and above).











The vast trunk space is well-suited to carry all kinds of gear, from multiple sets of golf clubs to coolers and more. To make loading and packing easier, the trunk floor of both the Sedan and Coupe is almost flat. Storage hooks on the left and right walls make it easy to secure cargo.


Customers in the Montgomery, Alabama area will be pleased to learn about all of the additional safety features the new 2016 Honda Accord offers. All 2016 Accords can now be equipped with Honda Sensing. Honda Sensing includes Collision Mitigation Braking System (CMBS) with Forward Collision Warning, Road Departure Mitigation (RDM) with Lane Keeping Assist (LKAS) and Adaptive Cruise Control, and is available as a standalone option on all trims with the exception of Touring, where Honda Sensing is included as standard equipment. All 2016 Accords will feature a standard Multi-Angle Rearview Camera and Expanded View Driver's Mirror as well as four-channel anti-lock brakes (ABS) with Brake Assist and Hill Start Assist, Vehicle Stability Assist (VSA) with Traction Control, dual-stage, multiple-threshold front airbags, driver and front passenger SmartVent side airbags and side-curtain airbags for all outboard seating positions, and Tire Pressure Monitoring System (TPMS). Residents in Millbrook, Wetumpka, and Prattville are  concerned with vehicle safety, and the 2016 Honda Accord has the options they are looking for.

Drivers commuting from Millbrook and Prattville into Montgomery, Alabama will benefit from the estimated 27/37/31* (City/Hwy/Combined) MPG on the 4-cylinder (CVT) Sedan models. To give the Accord every advantage in the highly competitive mid-size class, a completely new interior was designed for the ninth-generation Accord, bringing with it a level of luxury and craftsmanship never before seen in the Accord. The Accord was the first Honda model and first vehicle from a Japanese automaker to be manufactured in America and has been in continuous production at the company's Marysville, Ohio auto plant using domestic and globally sourced parts since November 1982. It has also been produced at the company's plant in Birmingham, Alabama just a short drive from McConnell Honda customers in Clanton, Millbrook, and Prattville.
